| Bulls lift Tournament Cup!

Sunday afternoon our U8 Bulls attended the HQH Tournament that was hosted at Bullocksteads.

They started really well winning their group opener, followed by back2back draws which put them in pole position for going through in the Champions league side of the draw. However due to other matches results and defeat in their final group match they ended up in the Europa side.

The Bulls won the semis on penalties where all 3 penalties found the back of the net which was enough to progress against Hebburns 2. This set them up to a final against the only team that had beaten them on the day giving our Bulls the chance to right their wrongs from their previous encounter.

Thankfully.. the Bulls saved their best til last running away with a 6-1 win after a relentless display which seen the Bulls lift the Europa Cup and bring it back to Berwick!

Congratulations Bulls!

Huge thanks to the parents, grand parents, brothers and sisters that attended to support on a cold, windy Sunday, most not getting back home before 19:30.

Thank you

| SORTED Visits The Juniors

We would like to Thank SORTED for coming along and putting a presentation on Tuesday night for our Older age groups (U12s and above)

Sorted is Northumberland's Substance Misuse Service for young people.

'Substances' refers to:

• all legal and illegal drugs

• alcohol

• volatile substances, such as solvents and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

Sorted is made up of specialist workers and health staff.

The service provides intervention for children and young people up to age 18 within the Northumberland area. Young people are supported to stop using substances, and to reduce the associated risks from substance misuse, both to themselves and their communities. They are also supported to achieve good physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

We as a club have a duty of care for our Kids and we feel it's massively important this information is made available to them.

We would like to Thank Helena of SORTED for making the journey up from Cramlington.

A Huge thank you must go to Jaki Duffy of Rise North East for making this possible with her hard work behind the scenes.

And last but not least the black and gold for use of their facilities.

"It’s a good feeling to give back to something that I loved being a part of during my youth. I'd like to credit the kids for being so well behaved and getting involved on what was a great night. I’m open to working with the kids for more great ideas to serve up going forward. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a great partnership."

| TEEN NIGHT SUCCESS!

At the start of the football season, BRJ held the first Youth Forum, and one suggestion from this event was to organise a Teen Night for the older teams in the club.

On Tuesday, BRJ held the first Teen Night at the Black and Gold. Almost 60 teens (u12 teams +) attended the event and enjoyed playing pool, darts, and watching football on the big screen. The teens had a great time, and amazing comments were received from the Black and Gold staff and volunteers regarding the positive behaviour and great atmosphere all night.

The Teen Night will be held on the second Tuesday of every month, and we can’t wait for the next one with lots of ideas going forward.

The mid-season Youth Forum will be held in the coming weeks. The Teen Night demonstrates just how important the juniors’ views and ideas are to keep the club progressing and growing into the future!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude towards 1 of our Club coaches, Craig Rowan. Craig organised and ran last month's sell out, The Sportsman’s Lunch at Berwick Rugby Club.

This isn't Craig's first Rodeo as he has hosted these events several times over the years helping fantastic charities along the way such as Berwick Cancer Cars, Myeloma UK and St Oswald's Hospice to name a few.

Here what's he had to say after the event..

'A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event - from those who bought tickets and gave generously via our raffle and auction to the awesome individuals and businesses who donated prizes.

It’s very pleasing to receive lots of amazing feedback and know that everyone had a great afternoon - including all 3 speakers who have messaged to say they had a ball!

Thanks to all those in attendance we raised £3,770 for Berwick Rangers Juniors to assist with providing grass roots football to well over 150 local kids on a weekly basis.'

Thank you so much for choosing us, Craig! We are extremely proud to join the list of amazing charities that have benefited from these events over the years.

Juniors Donated Grasscutter from The Lawnmower Centre Duns!

We would like to say a huge thanks to The Lawnmower Centre Duns for very generously donating a ride on grass cutter to us at Berwick Rangers Juniors.

This donation has made a huge difference in our ability to keep all our pitches in excellent condition for all our 14 teams. It has been well used over the last few weeks as the grass has been growing fast, we had some good advice over several conversations with The Lawn Mover Centre and their staff about which machine would meet our needs. They were very helpful and knowledgeable on the subject and we are all massively appreciative of their generosity in donating to us our first ride on mower at the club. The 2nd hand machine has been faultless and leaves a great finish for all our teams to train and play on so if anyone out there needs a new or second hand machine we would highly recommend you to give the guys in Duns a shout for some great advice and service.

Thank you very much from all at Berwick Rangers Juniors.

Berwick Rangers Juniors awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Berwick Rangers Juniors are both proud and delighted to announce that they have been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS).

The KAVS is the highest award given to local volunteer groups - the equivalent of an MBE - and recognises outstanding work done in local communities for the benefit of others.

Berwick Rangers Juniors have been providing fun, inclusive competitive football coaching and training for four decades in and around Berwick. Indeed, the parents of many current junior players were also members of ‘the Juniors’ in their youth.

The KAVS is only awarded to the very best of hundreds of nominated groups each year. It is a badge of excellence and a ringing endorsement of Berwick Rangers Juniors’ committee, coaches and dedicated volunteers that provide healthy, safe and fun sporting activities for youngsters of all abilities.

Commenting on the award Berwick Rangers Juniors chairman Steven Ingram said: “the committee and I are absolutely delighted to have been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, but this is an award for every member of our entire group, from the volunteers painting pitch lines on a cold winter’s day, to the parents ferrying young players to-and-from matches and all our hard-working volunteers, going above-and-beyond to provide safe, stimulating football for our junior players. Our thanks also go out to everyone in the local and wider community who have supported the juniors over the decades which has helped us become the club we are today.

“And it’s something all our young participants should also be very proud of”.

The award will be officially presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Northumberland , the Duchess of Northumberland at a later date .
